 "Excellent and fun mobile" 2008-12-31
By R. Suarez Giacoman (Mc Allen, Texas United States)
W600i is indeed one of the best mobiles I've ever had. I used it for over three years and was reluctant to change it until my wife gave me a Nokia N95 last Christmas. It once broke because my newborn accidentally threw it to the floor and I had it fixed so I would not have to change it. Even the newer versions of the W600 series do not perform as good as this one in particular.

I am aware it is not a new phone anymore, the price is great for what you get (I paid double when I got mine) so I decided to share my thoughts with whoever considering to get this great phone from Sony.

I got it in orange, which looks great on this stylish cell phone. It is a little bit too big but that's because of the potent speakers this model has, which to me, was of the best features of the model. You can listen to mp3s and radio on this little thing and the sound will be great! Mamory can be expanded so more files can be stored in it

The reception never failed and the performance was excellent. The software included is easy to use, if you've used a computer you'll not need to read the manual. Applications and files are stored in folders just like Windows explorer does. The menus are nice looking and very easy to navigate.

It has Bluetooth and infrared capabilities. One of the applications I liked the most was the audio recorder, I recorded so many bootlegs with it in concerts! Even when my newborn started saying his first words I was able to record everything with this one.

I can think of many attributes of this phone and not a single flaw, if you are considering to get this, be aware you are in for a treat, great phone and great performance!

 "Best Phone Ever" 2008-07-28
By Jared D. Herigstad
This phone is such a great product. I had it for 3 years before it was broken and had to switch to another. This phone was a great music player, radio, and when used with my laptop gave me better internet access than most wireless internet access points used in most people's homes. I am going to replace it with another Sony Ericsson and it will probably be this one or a new one from this brand.

"I'll never replace this phone!" 2008-06-26
By ACraftyChic (Richfield, Ohio)
Not only does this phone have everything including FM capability, but it is fun and easy to use. I often use the FM to listen to a morning show during work. Most of the employees can not even receive a signal in our concrete building, however this phone picks up my FM stations clearly. The phone has many features that make it fun to use and even play with. You can turn it sideways to play some games with the extra game buttons. I have had this phone for 5 years and wouldn't replace it unless I broke it. And even then, I would have to upgrade to the next Sony Ericsson phone in this model!

"Still a great player for the money" 2009-09-13
By Amy (Tennessee)
I bought this on eBay truthfully. I paid all of $30. After a simple firmware restoration, the internet radio function makes it worth every penny paid. When you are out of a WiFi area, you simply flip over to your music library of mp3s. The flickr photo of the day is a nice feature, and after the firmware is restored, it also plays videos.. a function I don't really use.

The cons: The screen does scratch easily. Mine arrived with a scratched screen also but a little Displex mostly fixed that. The battery life is shorter than the other Sansa players at about 8 hours for me. I am currently tinkering with my settings (display brightness, backlight timer) to try to get a little more time out of it. My other Sansas run from 24-36 hours on a charge. BUT... you have to expect this battery life to be shorter due to the WiFi use. That's common sense!

If you should happen to get one with the WiFi disabled, there are good instructions at forums.sandisk.com to get you on the road to internet radio.

If you still don't think this is a good deal, just check out the prices for true WiFi internet radios! You'll come back and give this one a second look.

 "Only 3 stars!" 2009-08-18
By H.N. (VA, USA)
Good:

1. Nice sound quality

2. Internet radio

3. Rating options (on the mp3)

5. Skip songs on Internet Radio (unlimited)

6. Good video quality

8. Nice click wheel

Bad:

1. Short battery life

2. Simple setting options

3. No sleeping time

I bought it from the seller ____ (And the seller puts the product in the "New" section). If you want to know who they are just click "All my review", you will see who I purchased the product from. The box of the product is white (like the used one). There is "No Wifi" label on the box of the product. I had to contact Sandisk Customer service to solve the problem with the internet radio (because there is no internet radio until I downloaded a new firmware and did a bunch of things). Eventually, the most important thing is that the screen is scratched 2 long lines accross. Very frustrated!

I hope this information is useful to you!

 "Excellent MP3 Player" 2009-08-17
By R. Raiz (Cleveland Heights, OH United States)
Right out of the box this is a very good value. All I had to do was plug it in, refresh the battery, and half an hour later it was ready to load up with music.

I plugged it into the USB port of my computer and needed to unplug it and reinsert the plug in order for the player to configure itself with the folders in its internal drive, and once that was done it was ready to go. The better way to load the music, however, is to do it through Windows Media Player, so that the cover art is copied over, and that proved to be a fairly easy task. Once I plugged in the player it automatically synced up with media player and started loading music. I let it load up over the next hour or two, and when I came back I had a fully loaded MP3 player.

The visual look of the Connect is stunning. Each album has the album icon next to it as you scroll down using the wheel knob. Using the MP3 player is pretty intuitive, as well, with little need to consult a user manual. The only thing I had to look for, having been used to the E200 series of MP3 players from Sandisk, was the volume control, which is on the side of the Connect instead of being controlled by the the wheel.

The build is not as sturdy as the E200 models, since the Connect is all plastic, including the back, so you need to invest in a case right away, but that is something I would have done anyhow, being finicky about my electronics. I wasn't too put off with the lack of the WiFi, since I did not buy this for listening to radio, although that would have been nice. What I was not pleased with was the missing .5 gig of storage - what did Sandisk do with it? Oh well, I had to be stingy with what I loaded onto it, and I will have to invest in a Micro SD card sooner than later.

It has a built in speaker, but that is not something I would use too often, since the sound is very low and tinny.

I need to mention, too, that I bought this for my wife, who cares less about gadgets. But since her present MP3 player (also a Sandisk) has a problem with the headphone jack, so that sometimes both channels do not play, and she was forever fidgeting with it so that it would work right, I think she will quickly come to appreciate it. Or at least I hope she will!

Well done, Sandisk.

 "waste of money" 2009-07-12
By Lev Rozman (Windy City)
This purchase was waste of money. File transfer to device directly (folder to folder) is almost impossible. Used Rhapsody or VMP to sync up MP3 files it only does for dozen MP3 and then crashed! It was much easier to drug and drop files to SD card outside of player, but when SD inserted to Sansa, the initiation process take a very long time and player cannot be used for 15-20 minutes. Battery life is very short. Wi-Fi is nice but it tied to Yahoo and that is dead already. I simply junked this device as it cannot be use for what I planned. Don't buy it!
