 "Best Ever" 2009-12-01
By J. Lu (Berkeley, CA)
For $11 with free shipping, this is the best alarm clock I've ever bought. Large display, works great. No need to reset after power outrage. I place it in my baby's room, my new born baby can listen to country music when I'm not with him...he's happy too...

"excellent for the price and features" 2009-12-01

It is excellent choice for the price and features. The Daylight saving time setting work and battery backup option is great. Everything is working as I expected.

 "Display Brightness Problem" 2009-11-30
By M. Thompson (Houston, TX)
In our opinion, the display brightness is too dim to read during the day (or when all the room lights are on), and too bright at night. These Sony alarm clocks should have had an automatic dimmer or some way to adjust the brightness.

 "Great clock!" 2009-11-26
By A. Lin
I bought this clock about three weeks ago and have been very satisfied with it. I guess I haven't bought a clock in a while because this one definitely impressed me with all its features. For example, I opened it and plugged it in expecting to see the blinking 12:00 that I would have to reset, but instead, it was already showing the right time! Of course, Eastern time rather than Pacific time, but that was easy to adjust with a few buttons (there are about 5 to 6 time zones to choose from). Also, as I was setting the alarm, I went too far past my desired time, so I was expecting to loop around the 60 minutes again to get back to the right time, but instead this alarm clock has both back and forward buttons for adjusting the time! You can hold the buttons down to get it to zip through the times faster, or click through the minutes and hours one by one. There is also a sleep radio timer if you want to fall asleep to the radio and have it automatically shut off after a certain time.

One feature that was slightly odd that I wasn't used to was that the snooze goes from 10 minutes to 20 to 30 and so forth, each time you push it. I haven't experienced this myself because I keep waking up before my alarm, but that's what the manual said.

I did read reviews complaining about the brightness of the display. It's really not a problem at all and not something that stands out to me.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic clock and was so impressed by the technology. Then again, I haven't purchased a clock in probably 10 years so maybe all these impressive features are pretty standard in other clocks.

"Does what I need it to do" 2009-11-20
By Josiah Olivieri (WA USA)
We recently removed a system from our television cabinet that showed the time. There was a gap and no way to tell the time in the living room. I looked around on Amazon.com for a clock, such as this one, to fill the void. After comparing the price and the features (and reading a few reviews) I decided to take a chance on this clock.

For the price this clock is great. I've owned it for roughly a couple months now and the clock does what is expected. When I purchased the clock, I bought two. We use the extra for our guest room (they like to know local time when they visit).

In the dark this clock is easy to read.

In a lit room this clock is easy to read.

In sunlight (which does not come so often to the Seattle area) this clock is easy to read.

The numbers on the display are about an inch tall. At roughly 15 feet away this clock is still readable.

It's not tiny but it's definitely compact. It measures about the size of a Western Digital external harddrive or as wide and tall (but not as deep) as a Mac Mini.

Two things about this item really made me want to review it (and who gets excited about a clock? not me, really!) The first is it automagically sets the time when you plug it. The second, probably related to the first, is I did not have to adjust this clock for daylight savings. If a clock shows the correct time, sets itself, adjusts itself and is relatively easy to read - that's alright by me.
