 "Save your money" 2009-10-23
By trh (FL)
My wife bought me a G2 for Christmas last year. I waiting for my fifth radio from Slacker right now. The previous four all had problems that Tech Support stated required replacement. Three had memory issues; the fourth wouldn't even turn on when I received it new from the factory.

I love the concept and the music selection was very good. But in the last nine months, I've been without my G2 more than I've had one. I told Tech Support that I didn't want a replacement; I wanted my money back. They said they would pass that request up to management. That was three weeks ago and I haven't heard anything.

As others have said, it is a 'buggy' device. I wouldn't buy one until they fix all the issues they have (like you can only sync via Wifi -- forget trying to get the USB connector to work. Amazing that we have 5-6 iPods in our house and they all sync via USB w/o any problems. You wouldn't think that would be difficult).

 "Slacker G2 Rocks!!!" 2009-10-13
By JJ (Issaquah, WA USA)
This thing is incredible. Why haven't I heard of this before? With some more marketing and some more fine tuning of the device, Slacker G2 will obliterate iPod and satellite radio. Like everyone else, I have a couple of iPods, and I also have XM satellite radio subscription for work. I stoppped listening to my iPod because I get bored with the same old music. The satellite radio is better, but the cost of the monthly subscription adds up, and you can't skip songs or customize the stations to your liking. I love Slacker, and IMHO, there's nothing to not like about it. The whole world should know about it. That said, there are a few minor pet peeves about G2. 1. The battery life is too short 2. Takes a bit too long for the device to turn on. 3. When performing basic functions, such as changing stations, increasing volume etc. it's a bit sluggish and not as fast as it should be. 4. The sound quality could be a bit better, but it's perfectly fine for casual listening. If you are fanatic audiophile insisting on the best sound, G2 may not deliver. I'm a casual listener and I am perfectly happy with it. By the way, I love the sleek box of the G2, and the device is super cute and nice, too. Overall, very very nice.

"GIANT pain, such a disappointment and I really wanted to like it!" 2009-09-24
By Jessie Ott (Wyoming, USA)
This is the most frustrating music player I have ever owned, and I've gone through a lot of them. I have had it for a week, and have yet to have my stations loaded correctly (or all of them, so far I've only got 12 of 39) and I have honestly been trying for a couple hours every day since I got it. I've already had to factory reset it twice and start all over. The updating via USB cable does NOT work for me at all, and from the sounds of it doesn't for a lot of others, either. check out slacker.com/forum before buying if you are considering buying.

It's a great concept, there's just too many bugs still in it, and slacker tech support has NOT been helpful at all. I love the idea of having new music whenever you connect and update, but it's just a big headache to get to that point. I don't have wifi at my house, so I have to go borrow one and sit for a few hours to get anything updated, and only about 1/4 of it updates correctly anyways.

The 3 GB for personal music let me add a little less than 400 songs, which doesn't seem right to me so maybe that was an error on my end, but for 3 GB i was expecting more.

The design is beautiful, but the screen and back are very stracth prone.

I love how it learns your music preference the more you use the heart/ban buttons, although I wish you could just use the heart without neccesarily saving it, sometimes I like a song but don't want to save it.

The headphones are crap and hurt your ears, go ahead and buy good earbuds if you're going to invest the money into this thing.

Granted I've only had it for a week, but it has seriously wasted HOURS AND HOURS of my time trying to get it to work right, and frankly for the money I expect something to work the way it claims. Had I known about all the problems, I would have never bought this, although like I said I love the idea of it. I suggest you check out the forum of other G2 owners before buying this, it seems many people have troubles too. And it's too bad because I really wanted to love this thing.

 "It's a Virtual Jukebox" 2009-09-04
By J. Hicks (Owensboro, KY)
I have been eyeing the Slacker G2 for a while now, and when it went on clearance at the local Best Buy store, I went ahead and purchased one, and I am so glad that I did!

The small size of the unit is perfect and the screen is more than adequate for the album art. I do wish that it would get brighter than the brightest setting, as it is hard to see in sunlight.

The controls are straightforward and the user interface is simple to use. However, I find the system to be a bit laggy. It takes longer than expected to power on, and there is a definite lag in the volume settings.

In spite of these minor annoyances, I find the Slacker G2 to be a wonderfully designed gadget. For someone who doesn't have the time and/or inclination to make multiple playlists, this is a great device. Also ideal for someone who doesn't have a large music collection, and great for people who are getting tired of their music. Users can create 'stations' that are tailored to their musical preferences without actually paying for any music, since it is not yours to keep. Using the Slacker website, users can request up to 25 songs by clicking the heart icon next to a song, but there is a workaround to requesting more! Just manually type in any song and you can request as many as you would like, for any station. It can be a bit of a hassle, but as it is free, this can't be beat. For a nominal fee, users can request unlimited songs by clicking the heart icon.

Sound quality is slightly below CD quality in my opinion. For the typical user, just pair it with a set of NICE headphones and you are well on your way. The included buds are not worth the material they're made of. Works well in my Jeep with the line in feature. There is an equalizer feature, but not customizable.

All in all, a very well thought out and innovative product. Worth the money!

"Great service but buggy hardware." 2009-08-15
By Average Guy
I've had the Slacker G2 now for about 4 months. I bought it after using the slacker service via streaming over the web and loving their stations. Slacker has some great music on their stations and it saves me tons of time because now I don't have to upload songs to a device manually, create playlists or search for music I want. The G2 player is a whole other story. The first player I had would have problems loading stations from day one. Some stations would download, but others would say they needed to be "refreshed" even though it downloaded all the stations successfully it seemed. I looked on the forums and several people were having this problem. I contacted tech support, any they stated they were looking into it. Reset the unit took care of it but it was only a temporary fix as the problem came back in a few days. By the way, tech support is only done via online chat, email, or forum posts. No problem for me since I work in the IT field but novice users may find that an issue. After a couple weeks of ownership, the unit would no longer boot up. It was "looping". It would turn on, the screen would go white, and then the unit would turn off. Tech support tried having me reset it and charge it, but it made no difference. They were going to process an RMA but since I was still in the return period, I just exchanged it. Now I'm on to the second one. It had been working fine for the first month or two, but lately started having some minor problems again. First was, I was at the gym, the battery indicator showed about half strength, but it only played two songs and wouldn't turn on again. I took it home and charged it and its been working for about a week or so until today. I noticed today that I could not update the stations. Every time I tried, it would just reboot. I factory reset the device and as I write this, it seems to be working. Overall, its a great form factor, and when its working properly its a great thing to have. The UI (User Interface like menus) is a little sluggish, but the graphics and capabilities are great. I'm not sure if I would buy this product again as it seems to have some issues that are annoying, but at the same time, because their stations and service is so good, its very nice to have.

 "good product, bad service" 2009-09-28
By John Plummer (Taos, NM)
I purchasd the AR Internet Radio (Model ARIR200), arriving about a week ago. I now have it hooked up and operating, and I am well satisfied with the result.

However, it was not easy getting there.

The quick setup instructions tell me that I must first register the product. I go to the computer and log on to the address provided. I fill out a five page form, then try to submit. I must first enter the script shown below. There is nothing shown. I try to submit with a blank entry. The web site is not available.

My problems are just beginning. I call the service number provided in the instructions. I am connected to Audiovox, a service company. It is quickly apparent that they know little about the product. The first girl compensates for that lack with a sassy attitude. It is my firewall. Disable the firewall and all will be well. It isn't.

In fact it was the fourth call before someone answered who knew the source of the problem. The AR server was down, and had been for at least a week. I could of course return the radio.

I don't want to return the radio!

A separate sever was found, this one through RCA, and I only had to fib a little bit to get my radio registered.

I now found that there were several services provided in which I have no interest. One, that provides on-line storage for my own MP3's, hangs the radio up until either a) it is unplugged, or b) the MP3 site is separately registered. A ditty by Marlene Dietrich is now stored on-line, for all I know for eternity.

That accomplished, I now go to sleep to BBC World Service, or classical music, or jazz, without sharing my cot with my laptop. Hooray!

John

 "It's a software problem." 2009-05-25
By D. Husby (Aloha, OR USA)
Back in 2001 there were several MP3 players on the market. They were all pretty mediocre and did pretty much the same thing. And then Apple came along and changed the entire industry. Why? It wasn't because of superior hardware or some revolutionary new technology unavailable to their competitors. It was because of their superior software and insight into what makes a good user interface and a good consumer experience.

This is what the ARIR200 lacks. It's got 22 buttons, an LCD display, a control wheel, a 512K audio buffer, Wifi, USB, AM/FM tuner, and ethernet port. The only thing lacking is the vision for how to turn this pile of stuff into a really good product.

The user interface is workable, but amature. Most of the 22 buttons are useless. The 512K buffer is also pretty much useless, but with good software, it could be made into a Tivo-like feature for pausing and re-winding live media.

Acoustic research would benefit greatly from releasing their software sources to the open source community and letting them polish up the ARIR200 into a truly good product.

 "Poor reception." 2009-04-13
By Snarly (USA)
I bought this as an "inexpensive" (LOL) internet radio for talk stations, fully accepting that the sound quality would not be that great. But this radio will not pick up my wifi router 4 feet away on the other side of an interior wall with the electrical wiring in the wall between them. Relocating it to a cleaner radio pathway, it still drops the signal frequently, and must be manually reset. I can't recommend this radio because even a $10 radio that doesn't work very well is an exorbitantly over-priced radio.

"Nice Unit - Poor Quality" 2009-10-01
By Admin (USA)
This internet radio delivers what it promises. It receives plenty of channels and reception is good. A few stations have varying sound levels, so there is a need to adjust the volume when switching between channels. I haven't yet used any of the other features such as the I Pod dock. I run it through my stereo, so the sound is great. By itself, the sound is decent as one would expect for a unit with speakers of this size.

Unfortunately, the display stopped working after a few weeks. I couldn't read the white lettering at all. The radio was still functioning, but rendered useless. I received a no-hassle replacement from Amazon, so we'll see if it fares any better.

With an English language owner's manual (twice I received French ones - a replacement was eventually sent) and a functioning display, I would rate it 4 stars.

Radio is everything promised and more. I have not used the Ipod connection but never needed to. Couple this radio with Pandora and you have fabulous commercial free, dj free music. I bought this with the intention of accessing satellite radio via the web, for a fee of course. However, after discovering Pandora, I have not bothered with the satellite bit.

Sound is great. After set up and storing stations in memory it is a breeze to use. Not that hard to set up but does require a bit of PC savy and patience.

I have only had my unit for a couple of days but LOVE IT already. My at home broadband is a Sprint MIFI 2200 portable Hot Spot which was also purchased from Amazon. They work well together along with my laptop computer. There is NO problem using the Grace Radio on a 3G Sprint Network! The MIFI supports up to five devices at one time. Enough said for the MIFI! the Grace Radio is fairly easy to set up, it took less than a half hour. Be prepared to spend MANY hours checking out ALL the various stations! I am now looking forward to a WiFi Auto Radio, maybe Grace will realize the potential of partnering with a MIFI device and build a radio for the road that can receive thousands of stations as well as podcasts!

"Excellent for travel and at home" 2009-08-26
By Troglodyte (Atlanta, GA)
Very easy setup and connection to internet. Use of dial/single button to enter text characters is time consuming, but only needs to be done once per network, and remembers settings. We are able to dock our iPod with it's protective cover on. Had issues navigating through the grace radio website to activate the account (free) and associate our [...] account (the instructions didn't match the website very well). But, once set up it is very easy to use Pandora and provide "thumbs-up/downn" feedback. We even created a new Pandora station while listening to the radio on the deck of a cabin in the mountains on a recent trip. Perfect for travel, WiFi and ethernet port make it easy to connect to internet. Sound is nothing to brag about, but is not bad either. Haven't used the RCA jacks yet, but am sure this will become a standard part of our home stereo. Wish it had a battery-power option for true freedom of movement, but realize that it would chew through batteries, and perfection is a lot to ask for.

We are not technically advanced people, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to use the Intouch wireless frame with satisfaction. It turned out to be so easy to use and makes a fun talking point for guests. It has web TV, news feed, internet radio and is a digital picture frame. It has a rechargable battery and WI-FI enabled. It is fairly intuiitive to use. Sometimes you have to click on things a few times more than intented, but the quality is excellent. It is also very sleek looking. I'm not sure I would pay over $200 for it (since we do not tend to purchase fancy techno-things), but it sure is fun to have!

"Never have to listen to the in-laws whine again (at least about pictures)" 2009-07-29
By Ravenskya
So being the new daughter-in-law is tough. Our most recent trip to the in-laws included my having to listen to complaint after complaint about how I never send any photos of the kids. Now granted I email them lots of pictures - but apparently they can't print them on their own.

This wonderful little device may have solved my problems (at least the picture issue).

The Intouch wireless internet frame is a nifty little invention, with some basic computer skills under your belt you shouldn't have much trouble making it work. Basically if you can figure out how to get the pictures OFF of your digital camera and onto your computer, you can manage this device because it's basically the same process in reverse. Now keep in mind that this is a touch screen - something we rarely use in our house due to the sticky little fingers attached to the previously mentioned kids. This one seems fairly sturdy and actually survived a month on the kitchen table prior to it's trip to Grandma's.

The good:

- you can hook this bad boy up to your computer and upload pictures fairly easily (cable included)

- Once you have this thing set up to the internet, you can upload new pictures from states away to show grandma the latest and greatest pictures.

- There's internet radio and TV involved (don't expect them to replace your TV or computer, but they're neat to have)

- It's touch screen so you don't have to worry about fiddling with a keyboard

- The pictures look great

- Simple to set up and use

The not so good:

- There isn't a lot of storage space on here, once you delete all the pictures that come with it (and don't forget the demo video) you can still only hold about 35 high resolution good quality digital pictures at a time.

- The web upload only rotates 5 of your new pictures at a time - so you'll have to pull off old ones for grandma to see the new ones

- The touch screen, though sturdy, needs some rough tapping - I advise you do setup for anyone with arthritic fingers. Though they will be able to manage it may be tough on them to double tap the way it wants.

- Not really a wall hanger - this needs to be set on a desk or a table somewhere because if you just want to leave it running, you'll need to have it plugged in.

- On humid days the touch screen can get quirky on you.

- The slideshow sometimes lags, I assume it's when it's pre-loading larger picture files, but in essence some of your pictures will have longer screen time then others.

- We had some stuttering on the internet TV and Radio - enough that I wouldn't opt to use them myself. If you are buying specifically for this feature I would look elsewhere.

On the whole, if you are looking for a wireless internet picture frame, this is an excellent product. If you are buying for the less computer savvy then set it up before handing it off to them. Also - advise them of the proper cleaning of a touch screen surface.

The size is perfect to sit on your desk at work or home, or to put on an end table - it is NOT a center piece of a room.

"Nice Digital Photo Frame; Poor Implementation of Everything Else" 2009-07-23
By Jacob Hantla (Chandler, AZ United States)
The screen on the Intouch IT7150 shows crisp photos. There are lots of options for cycling rates and transitions. Loading photos through the memory card reader and placing it on a slow cycle rate makes for an unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing frame. There are quite a few lower-cost frames that do the exact same thing.

The special features of this frame are what are supposed to set it apart. It has internet connectivity, so it is able to show photos from facebook, flickr, and many other internet sites. The interface for setting this up is cumbersome, extremely difficult to understand, and very minimally customizable. I am well above average in my ability to understand and use electronic devices, especially if they make use of the internet, and after a few hours I was so frustrated with the internet photo features of this internet frame that I simply won't use them. I load my photos on a memory card and stick it in the back. The inconvenience of using the internet to display photos, renders this feature unusable for me.

Radio: There are a wide number of free internet radio stations at this time (recent recording industry agreements may severely limit the number of stations broadcasting free internet radio) which this frame takes advantage of. Navigation through these stations is relatively easy, especially if you are familiar with the names of the stations and know what you're looking for. The frame can also play mp3s. So it can double as a simple sound system. Plug it into your stereo and you have a simple portal for digital media. Not an extremely robust system, but it works if you have no better options.

Video: Poor playback quality, difficult to find anything you'd want to watch anyway. There are not near as many tv stations as there are radio on the internet and the tv stations that do exist, you pretty much wouldn't want to watch. So this feature for me, after playing around with it, is not going to be used.

News: The user is able to view onscreen text versions of the news with a few photos. Pretty slow navigation. I think this feature is more gimmick than useful. If you have a computer, read it on there. If not, watch tv or read a paper.

Overall: I feel that this frame does photo display from a memory card well. It does photo display from the internet well, only after long interaction with a very poor backend system. The rest of the features are more-or-less gimicks. I'd recommend, unless you will really take advantage of the radio/mp3 feature, that you just buy a frame with fewer extra features that can display photos just as well...save some money.

"nice wi-fi features but expected a bit more" 2009-07-15
By A. Hudson (GSO)
I was very happy to try out this product. Upon opening the box I was able to get it connected to my wireless network with less than five minutes. It also automatically found and upgraded the firmware. It took more time to set the clock on the unit than to connect to my network.

The touch screen is OK. The first thing you do is calibrate it. I found it to be off a few times after calibration but think you just need to hit the buttons with more pressure. The thing I did like about the `frame' was being able to watch web TV and radio. What is great about it is you can pick any country to watch TV and radio! Growing up in Germany I opted to watch German channels and the picture was not bad. However, I kept losing my connection and it would reboot the frame. I lost my wireless connection a lot but never lost my connection on my laptop.

The sound is OK but not great. It does not go that high but it has a decent clear sound. Now the biggest issue for me was seeing how pictures looked on this `frame'. I loaded up the same photos I have on my iPod touch, the pictures are very clear on my iPod touch. When viewing the same photos on the frame I was not as impressed. It seemed grainy and just not as clear as I expected it to be. Over all it is a nice internet frame but think it could have better and more useful features to it. It is nice but not super.

Last I was surprised at the plastic that holds the frame up. It is flimsy and I think with the frame being a bit heavier that a sturdier frame holder would be helpful. Over all a nice internet frame but did not 'wow' me. It has potential and hope they are able to make a few upgrades to the unit.

"inTouch and and inLike - This is a unique and classy item! This is a unit with STYLE, excellent design!" 2009-07-04
By Movie Maker (Alexandria, VA United States)
I was drawn to this product because I love new ways to use tech, and enjoy new things. This is a good one!

I admit, when I saw this, I thought it was just a extra cool version of a frame-- it is, but it is ALSO something I use every day.

I love the easy to navigate screens- the news feeds are a HUGE issue for me,and the net radio works like a charm, right out of the box! This would be GREAT for those in finance, or media.

The video is not perfect , but this is to be expected. Far better than what I currently *enjoy* on my year old cell phone, for example.

The Wi-Fi connection took maybe 3 minutes to set up, and there was a swift firmware upgrade within seconds.

In less then 15 minutes I was watching video, and reading/hearing news from around the world, and seeing my own pictures in a vibrant display - this is EASY to set up.

I tried several versions of SD, Memory Stick and a CF cards - everything worked. Quickly, I might add. Display was vivid, and the colors were perfect. You can adjust them, but I have yet to see the need.

There is a slight lag time for the touch screen (think of when you use an ATM), compared to an Apple iPhone, iTouch or perhaps are playing a video poker machine.

You will get the feel for it in just seconds, trust me.

I am impressed with the sleek design - no logo on the case , just form and function - very VERY high end. I have mine on a glass top desk, and due to it being wireless, it is a welcome addition.

The box it comes in is very attractive as well- think iPod, Flip Mino HD. Care was taken there as well, making this ideal as a gift.

At first glance it might seem like a pricy photo frame, but considering all it can do (to be basic, it is a Windows CE device) I think it is like the Corvette of photo frames!

A case can be made that a netbook can do more -- but that should not be the issue here - The inTouch unit is for the home or office and staying there, with a high degree of "dazzle" factor.

When people see this, they are attracted to it,and want to touch it.

Without question one of the top 5 unique products of the year!

Were it to be possible, I would give it a 4.8 -and the minor deduction is for the cosmetic piano black which can attract a fingerprint or two- just invest in a cloth to keep everything looking perfect!

Bottom line: The ease of use, Windows CE functions, and wireless, coupled with a sensational design make this a winner. This unit would be at home on any Star Trek set! (and it works, and is NOT a prop!).

"So good, wish sound quality were better" 2009-10-15
By FS Says (Boston, MA USA)
There are a lot of buzz about HD radio being the wave of the future. I tried an HD radio, and let me tell you, this internet radio has HD completely beat! I live in an area with poor reception for local stations, and I was tired of having to listen my favorite station through my laptop. Within minutes of taking the radio out of the box, I was connected to my favorite station but then I started exploring. I couldn't believe what I found! The radio connected to my Pandora account seamlessly. I've added stations to Pandora on my laptop and they appear on the radio within seconds! Controls on the radio link to Pandora for "thumbs up" or "down." Fantastic. But the really amazing thing is the intuitive interface that provides access to countless (there must be tens of thousands) of radio stations from around the globe! The interface is so intuitive that the stations can be selected either by region or by genre. All with no buffering! Incredible! For these features, I am deleriously happy with my purchase.

For all of its exceptional qualities, the sound quality is disappointing. With one speaker, the bass is truly lacking (and I don't like heavy bass). The sound doesn't seem "full." There are jacks in the back to connect stereo speakers but I'm not sure how that would work or whether I want to go through the effort. I bought this radio based on a review in the Boston Globe. They mentioned the Squeezebox Boom as having the highest quality sound. Of course, that radio was significantly more expensive and doesn't have Pandora controls. Neither radio has an iPod connection and they don't have back-up batteries. Neither has iTunes tagging (seriously?!).

All in all, I'm very happy. When they develop a radio with audiophile-quality sound, I'll be in line to buy one. Hopefully, wifi/internet radio will really take off. I'd love to have a receiver for my home stereo (since that sends sound throughout the house).

"Create your own Radio Station" 2009-08-04
By the gray geezer (Grayling, MI, USA)
if you can connect to the internet, you can use Pandora to create your very own "radio station" which will play the kinds of music you like, (you select it from a huge library of all recorded music, from the earliest days of radio until now). and if you can create a Pandora account, you can not only play your favorite music on your computer, but (and especially if you have a laptop with those tiny, little tinny speakers), you can improve on your computer speakers by buying and using an "internet radio" to listen to the music.

an "internet radio" uses your internet connection (it makes a wireless connection to your main computer or it makes a network connection -- via an ethernet cable connected to your main computer -- to SHARE your internet connection just as another computer might). then, as long as you remain connected to the internet, you can play music (as, for example, from Pandora) as long as you wish. you can use the single (but effective) speaker in the Livio Radio or you can connect the radio to your home music system via a stereo cable.

in addition to Pandora (where you, in effect, create your own radio station -- but may, in the future, have to pay a nominal monthly fee for copyright purposes), there are thousands (yes, thousands) of FREE internet radio stations that you can use this radio to listen to (by connecting you to these stations from all over the world via the internet). the livio comes with a small remote control, an internal "program" for easily setting up the radio to connect to your Pandora account, another for connecting to "Reciva" and all those free internet radio stations, volume controls, mutes, etc.

the radio is well-built and, after a few weeks of using it, i have no complaints whatsoever. it's a delight. one of the best investments i've ever made. oh yes, it also has a headphone jack and when it's powered up but not connected to the internet, it displays the time. all in all, a very well-thought-out device. i listen to it for hours every day while i'm doing my work (and play) on the internet. there are other "internet radios" out there (some cheaper, some more expensive), but i have yet to find a better one.

 "Like Livio a lot!" 2009-08-03
By Bob Moon (Santa Cruz, CA United States)
The Livio radio is a gem. Easy to set up, with great customer service if you need assistance. I bought the radio specifically to use with Pandora, but you can listen to many other stations from around the world, and many genres. The sound is satisfying for me, and I have listened to a broad range of musical styles. The controls are simple and quite intuitive. I like the appearance of the radio very much, kind of modern retro, sleek and unobtrusive.

"This is a great Internet Radio that coordinates with the Reciva website." 2009-10-19
By Anthony C. Darienzo (Huntington, NY)
I original panned this radio in my first review because the radio could not receive WQXR 105.9 in New York City. I contacted Grace and they said that they could not obtain the url for the music stream from WQXR's website.

After doing a little research on the net I found out how to obtain the url for any streamed music ( a very simple process ) on the Internet. After programming this url on Reciva's website, which then electronically sent it to my radio, I can now receive WQXR's webstream on my Grace radio. By the way, by using the Reciva website you can program any number of stations onto your radio. All and all an excellent product.

 "Great radio" 2009-08-14

I bought this radio a couple months ago and an thoroughly happy with it's audio quality and performance. The sleek design and top mounted speaker are also very unique. The ability to stream Pandora as well is awesome. It has a bunch of other features like Sirius Internet Radio, Live 365 and much more really makes this one of the premier internet radios in the market place today. Highly recommend this radio!

"Super Loud! Kick butt sound" 2009-08-12
By Carrie L. (Portland OR)
This radio has superior sound. This is my 2nd radio from Grace Digital and I must say it keeps getting better. The Bravado is their best radio ever. We carry it outside on the Deck for parties. The wifi range has no problems in our yard.

You can't get good country music in Oregon. Check out 181 Kickin Country. My problems are solved. If I can only get this technology in my Truck!

I called their customer service department and was recommended to this new model. I bought a Logitech squeezebox from Best buy and find it to difficult to operate. I could never get it logged on to my home network. Took it back.

This radio has wonderful sound quality. It fills my whole kitchen with music.

The incredible part is the station selection. So many choices, you can spend hours experimenting with new stations around the world. There have been so many hours of personal enjoyment, its worth every penny!

 "Excellent sounding Internet Radio" 2009-07-31
By Gregory Fadul (San diego,ca)
Grace Digital has a complete line of award winning internet radios. The Bravado (GDI-IRD4400m) is the flagship model. It has two built in 3 inch top loaded speakers with a rear firing port and wood cabinet (very rare in radios these days) to create a warm sound. The radio has a built in Class D 16 watt digital amplifier ( the first internet radio to actually have a digital amplifier that I know of) to provide crystal clear highs and deep lows.

As with all Grace radio's (except the GDI-IRP600) the Bravado can access over 20,000 radio stations, Pandora, Live365 , Blogtalkradio and Sirius (if you have a Sirius Premium Internet radio subscription). The built in 4 line backlit display provides great view of the stations for you to search by genre or location and add the station to your 5 presets on the front of the unit, 10 presets on the remote or `my favorites' folder. If you prefer to use your computer to search for stations you can register your radio on the new Grace web site [...] . After it is registered you can search and save your favorites on your computer and your favorites will be saved directly on your radio.

The internet radio has a headset jack that can be connected to headsets for private listening or directly to a stereo to listen to any internet radio station directly through your home audio system.

There are less expense radios such as the GDI-IR1000 or 2000 but you would be hard pressed to find a better sounding unit for anything close to the price. Even Cnet which I believe to be the most unbiased and one of the top review sites on the web gave it a `very good' rating [...]
